Get into the Community Spirit at Central Library!

SATURDAY 7th DECEMBER – FREE All-day Event: All Welcome!

Winter sceneTake time-out from the rush to Christmas and come along to Central Library where we will be getting into the Community spirit.

On the Ground Floor of the library between 10am-3.30pm VAS (Voluntary Action Swindon) will be hosting a Community Christmas Fair where 15 Community Organisations and Groups will each have stalls/displays on show for you to browse and also to find out more information about their particular groups.

There will be a Young People’s Polish Community Choir singing seasonal songs to help us get into the festivel mood and we have a special ‘Story & Song Time’ in the Children’s Library (11-11.30am). Children (and adults!) will also have the opportunity to learn how to use paper to make origami objects, book hedgehogs as well as decorations in time for Christmas!

In the afternoon between 1.45 – 2.45pm up in the 2nd Floor Reading Area we shall be celebrating the arrival of winter with Winter Tales an intoxicating mixture of Music, Prose and Poetry giving you the opportunity to relax from the frantic build-up to Christmas:
Music: Strike a Chord (Classical Guitar Quartet)
Prose: read by Jill Carter & Stuart Jackson
Poetry: read by Sam Lovelass
