Seasonal Community Event at Central Library

The frantic build-up to Christmas usually starts in earnest from the beginning of December and Central Library invites you to drop-in on Saturday 6th December to escape the rush and experience what’s happening at Central Library throughout the day.

 Community Fair hosted by VAS (Voluntary Action Swindon):

There will be a variety of stalls & displays from a wide mix of Community Organisations based in Swindon – the perfect opportunity to find out more about groups in your community! (10am-3.30pm throughout the Ground Floor)

‘Wintery Children’s Events’ – all sorts of exciting activities for young children in the Children’s Library area:
10am – 1pm: Face Painting for children of all ages (includes adults!)
11.00am -12noon: Story, Music & Father Christmas plus a special Craft session.
2.00-3.00pm‘Winter Celebration’ sharing stories, poems and songs for children & families age 7yrs upwards. Plus a special dance display by young children from the Swindon Tamil Association.

Then at 1.00-1.45pm (Library foyer entrance) The Swindon Young Musicians Choir will be singing seasonal songs.

2.00-3.00pm (2nd Floor Reading Room) – ‘Winter Tales II’ escape the frantic build-up to Christmas with a mixture of Prose, Poetry and Live Music all based around the theme of Winter. (Suitable for Adults & Teens).
