Summer Holiday Stories and Rhymes

bear huntIt’s never too early to start sharing stories and rhymes with your baby or toddler!
Library story and rhyme times are an ideal opportunity to enjoy stories, rhymes and songs with other children, parents and carers.

Sessions are held for under 5s at various libraries at regular times each week throughout the year. Find out more about locations and times on our story and rhyme time page.

jamesgiantpeachThere are other fun story sessions in Swindon, including the fabulous outdoor story walks held at Lydiard Park every Wednesday, 11am to 12pm during the summer holidays. The walks are ideal for under 7s and bring a range of stories, excerpts, rhymes and poems to life while exploring the seasonal signs of summer around the park. Full details can be found at: http://www.lydiardpark.org.uk/events/Pages/Summer-Holiday-Story-Walks.aspx

We will be at the Lydiard Park story walk with our brand new book bike on Wednesday 12 August, plus a selection of ‘bug’-y books of course! Come and say hello, join the library (if you aren’t already a member) and take out a book too!

If you are going on the Lydiard Park story walk, why not check out the books first at your local library and share together before the walk? Or pop along afterwards to get a copy to read together at home? Just click on the following links to check availability and reserve your copy free to pick up from the library of your choice!
