Get Ahead with your Reading this winter!

This winter Swindon Libraries and Information service are encouraging people to get into the reading habit with the national Reading Ahead programme.
Formerly called the Six Book Challenge, Reading Ahead invites you to pick six reads, which can be anything from books, magazines, newspapers, eBooks, a poem or even a website and record them in a diary to get a certificate and entry into a national and a local prize draw.
Participants can also log onto and create a profile on a dedicated website ( ) to share their reviews and get ideas on what to read.
Reading Ahead is aimed at young people and adults who want to increase their reading confidence and build a love of reading, something we at Swindon Libraries want to encourage. Anyone who would find reading 6 reads between now and the end of June 2016 when Reading Ahead ends a challenge can register at any Swindon Library.
To keep you reading whenever you’ve completed a read go back to the library and tell the staff what you’ve read to get freebies from Pens to free DVD rentals!
